Word For Today

A daily word for you to receive inspiration and make your day better.

Today's Word

Be fruitful!

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
- John 15:4–5

In the same way, we cannot expect to produce spiritual fruit, joy, peace, love, and salvation while being far from God. To be fruitful Christians, we must first receive the nourishment we need by remaining connected to Christ, our source of life. The closer we are to Jesus, the stronger we will be spiritually, and the more fruit we will bear.

If you feel that life is very hard or overwhelming, if you lack the strength to keep going, perhaps you need to spend more time with God. Make Him a priority; cultivate your relationship with Him so you can receive encouragement and strength to face your challenges. Fill your heart with the Lord every day. Talk to Him, read His Word, receive His love, and you will see your perspective begin to change.

Feed your spirit and allow God’s love and power to flow through you. Begin to bear abundant fruit, drawing others closer to the Kingdom of God.

Yesterday's Word

Teaching that grows and corrodes

Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
- Matthew 16:12

Jesus is concerned about what kind of teaching His disciples are receiving. Teaching is not acquired only by sitting in a classroom for hours, but also through daily interaction and conversations. Jesus’ disciples would not gather to listen to just any teacher; Jesus was concerned about the teaching transmitted within their circle of friends, in their environments of fellowship.

Today it is very easy for us to absorb ideas and worldviews that have very little of Christ and no biblical foundation. Unfortunately, these false teachings end up reaching many people and confusing the understanding of those whose fundamental foundations of biblical Truth are not well established.

Remember the warning Jesus Himself left us:

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
- Matthew 24:24

Be attentive to the kind of teaching you expose yourself to. Flee from legalism, false prophets, and distorted teaching based on men and not on Christ (the Scriptures). Of course, you can live alongside people of different faiths, but be active in your responsibility to discern. Hold fast to what is good and aligned with the Word, and discard that which is false teaching.

The Wonderful Teaching of Jesus

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.
- Mark 6:2

Do you remember your school days, when there were certain subjects you didn’t care about, those boring ones that didn’t spark any interest? In Jesus’ classroom, that doesn’t exist. His teaching captivates us, fills us, fascinates us, and is easy to understand.

Everything Jesus teaches is useful and should be considered important. We should not disregard what seems more difficult or what we don’t like as much. What truly matters is that we take in what He has shared and apply it to our lives.

Do not underestimate the teaching of Jesus! In fact, His teachings can encourage and strengthen those who hear them, for no one teaches like Him, no one has greater authority than the Lord. Through His Word, He continues to teach us how we should live, to reveal who our Heavenly Father is, and to reconcile us with Him.

Apply your heart to instruction
and your ears to words of knowledge.
- Proverbs 23:12

Read, meditate on, study, and apply God’s Word in your life!
