Help those in need
Blessed are those who have regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
- Psalm 41:1
God and His Word care about those in need. Unfortunately, because of political debates, the church has stopped working on behalf of the disadvantaged and has embraced other directions. It is the duty of God’s people to care for the needy without seeing them as a burden.
As the psalmist said, helping those in need is a joy. God protects and cares for those who do so, and He also prospers them. Whenever you have the opportunity, care for those who need you and receive happiness and blessings from God.
Helping the needy is a central theme of the gospel. Jesus’ own ministry on Earth emphasized those in need.
The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
- Luke 4:18–19
We must give importance to what is important to God. We are called to help the needy and the poor, to proclaim the freedom found in Christ to the prisoners and to everyone around us. Just as Jesus obeyed the Father and fulfilled His ministry, we must strive to fulfill our part in everything that God entrusts to us.
Let us share the gospel with those in need and share the resources that God has given us: “Freely you have received; freely give.” (Matthew 10:8b)

Where to seek advice
I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another.
- Romans 15:14
Paul shows us the importance of the Christian community and its great power to counsel one another. The apostle is confident that the brothers and sisters possess enough wisdom to advise each other so that they may live a good life before God.
The ability to counsel someone lies in the level of maturity one has, and to find that in people it is necessary to look for the expression of goodness and knowledge of the Scriptures.
Know where to seek your advice in times of need! Flee from those who are full of evil and know nothing about what is right. Instead, surround yourself with people who are full of goodness and fully instructed in the faith in Christ Jesus, for these are truly wise people.
Seek instruction for eternal life in the Word, and become able yourself to give good advice to those around you. Recognize the need to be around people who can guide you in the best path, and the importance of sharing your experiences with wiser people. In this way, we can be instruments of God!

Day Before Yesterday's Word
Do you want to receive the best from God today?
In life, we need to be able to identify our weaknesses and struggles. But that is not enough. We must ask God to transform us and help us fight against our flaws and the situations that harm us.
When we identify our weak points and challenges, it is a call to humility and to dependence on God so He can empower us to face those adversities. In our weaknesses, we find the opportunity to strengthen our faith and trust in God.
Asking God to transform us is an act of surrender. It is recognizing that, on our own, we are incapable of overcoming our flaws and challenges. The psalmist reminds us: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). This confidence in God as our shepherd and guide gives us the courage to face the unknown.
Our faith teaches us that spiritual growth is a continuous process. The apostle Paul, in his letters, often describes the inner struggle between the desire to do what is right and the temptation of sin. He concludes: “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:25). In Christ, we find redemption and the strength to fight against our flaws and overcome the situations that harm us.
It is in prayer and in reading the Scriptures that we find the Lord’s guidance. God gives us the Holy Spirit to empower us to live according to His purposes. When we trust in His grace and mercy, we are enabled to grow spiritually, overcome challenges, and experience the transformation He desires for our lives.
Therefore, identifying our weaknesses and asking God for transformation are crucial steps for us to grow in our faith and live according to God’s principles.
