To return home

If you think you have strayed too far from the Heavenly Father and that there is no hope for you, remember the biblical story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11–32).

The younger son left home and spent his inheritance recklessly. When the money ran out, he decided to return home, but he was afraid that his father would not receive him. However, when he decided to go back home, the opposite happened.

So he got up and went to his father.“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
- Luke 15:20

His father received him and accepted him! The father in that well-known parable shows the loving heart of our heavenly Father.

No matter how far you have wandered from the Lord or what you have done in your life, God is waiting with open arms for your return. He wants to forgive you so that He can restore your life and your relationship with Him. Remember that He is the loving Father who never rejects His children when they come to Him in repentance.

Do not delay any longer! Return to your home! God is waiting with open arms for your return.

Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
- Isaiah 55:6–7

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
- John 1:9

Word of the Day: God has open arms, God wants to forgive you.

God wants to forgive you! Perhaps you're feeling distant, far from God, because you've done something wrong and your conscience weighs heavily on you.

20 So he got up and went to his father.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

This story of The Prodigal (or 'Lost') Son shows how much God loves and forgives us. In the story, a young man asks his dad for his share of the money which he then goes and spends foolishly. When he has nothing left, he returns home, feeling truly sorry. Although he anticipates working for his dad what happens is that his dad welcomes him back with open arms and throws a big party.

No matter how far we wander from Him, or how many mistakes we make, God is always ready to forgive us when we decide to come back to Him. God is filled with compassion. God runs out to us, hugs us, and shows us His endless love and mercy.

It's true, sin is a trap that sometimes catches us in stubbornness and pride. But do you want to return to God's arms? The truth is, He is eager to forgive you! Just approach God knowing that you have done wrong - knowing, like the prodigal son, that you are ' no longer worthy to be called [...] son', - and God's grace will sustain you. Or, as it says in the Methodist Holy Communion Service: "Lord, we come to your table, trusting in your mercy and not in any goodness of our own. We are not worthy even to gather up the crumbs under your table, but it is your nature always to have mercy, and on that we depend."

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

He is faithful and He is just. He will forgive you. Don't wait any longer! Are you ready to depend on Him?

When you love Jesus, you can be certain that He is in control of your life and that He will help you.

Regardless of the flames that may be consuming the world around us, Jesus offers a peace that rises above all problems. This peace is not fragile; it is not shaken by the storms of life. It is a peace that dwells deeply in the hearts of those who love Him and trust in Him.

In Jesus, we find a beacon of hope, an anchor that keeps us firm even in the most difficult moments. He invites us to lay our burdens on Him and to rest in His peace. Thus, even in the midst of adversity, we find the true peace that the world cannot offer.
