Today's Word

Ready to help you

The Bible has words that can help us in every situation that life presents to us. We all face difficult moments, but the Word of God helps us overcome these challenges. Ask for God’s help when these challenging moments arise in your life.

Help me, Lord my God;
save me according to your unfailing love.
- Psalm 109:26

Lord, do not forsake me;
do not be far from me, my God.
Come quickly to help me,
my Lord and my Savior.
- Psalm 38:21–22

In the Psalms, we find examples of people who felt oppressed by the problems and difficulties of life. They decided to go to God, to cry out for His help and protection.

In the same way, you can turn to the Lord in the midst of situations that weigh you down. God knows your situation and wants to help you. Cry out to Him, explain how you feel, bring your concerns to Him. Open your heart to receive direction, wisdom, and peace in the midst of what you are going through. God is faithful!

Never forget that God is ready to help you through His Word, bringing peace to your heart and working in wonderful ways. Stay alert, because God wants to work in your life today. Trust in Him!

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
- Jeremiah 33:3

See what God says to you if you are facing:

Yesterday's Word

Be Wise in the Use of Your Time

How many times a week do you say: “I can’t, I don’t have time”? Today we live at an exhausting pace, and yes, sometimes it feels like we don’t have time to do everything we have to do. That’s why we need great wisdom to use our time in a way that honors God.

Ask God to help you use your time wisely today and always. Learn to value what is important to Him. Also, learn to say NO when you sense that God is not pleased with you doing something. Fill yourself more and more with the Lord each day, seek His face with all your heart, and pray for Christ to help you discern how to make good use of your time.

In Psalm 90 we find the following words:

Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
- Psalm 90:12

Try making a list of the activities where you spend most of your time. Then consider whether these activities draw you closer to God and His purpose for your life. Pray to the Lord, asking Him to give you wisdom to know how to glorify Him with your use of time.

You will see that God will guide you and show you the adjustments you need to make in your daily activities. Obey the Lord, and your paths will be made straight.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
- Proverbs 3:5-6

May God guide you today so that you may use your time wisely!

Day Before Yesterday's Word

Let suffering draw you closer to God

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
- Psalm 42:1

When reading Psalm 42, we notice that its author was exiled among a hostile people who mocked his faith in God. It is clear that he was suffering physically, emotionally, and spiritually. His soul was distressed, but even in the midst of that difficult situation, he chose to continue trusting in God.

His affirmations of faith help us see that, in the midst of all the agonizing suffering he experienced, he chose to seek God’s presence, draw near to Him, and trust in His power and goodness. He expressed his feelings before God with sincerity and, at the same time, affirmed his hope that God would act.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
- Psalm 42:5–6

It is not easy to have this attitude. Many times, when difficult moments of suffering and trials come, we forget that in God we have the source of hope. God’s power does not end when trials and pain come. On the contrary. God remains on His throne, strong, faithful, and ready to work on our behalf.

It is true that sometimes God does not act as quickly or in the way we would like, but He does not abandon us in the midst of pain. Choose to draw near to God, bringing your suffering to Him with the confidence that He is your salvation and your God forever. Praise God and trust Him.
