Word For Today
A daily word for you to receive inspiration and make your day better.
Today's Word
Let Your will be done, Lord!
This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
- Matthew 6:9–10
Many times, we recite the Lord’s Prayer without truly reflecting on the words. Jesus gave us this prayer as a model, and when we pray it, we should do so with awareness and reverence. This prayer touches on many aspects of our daily lives and, above all, inspires us to surrender ourselves into the Father’s arms, because we know He is good and cares for us.
When we pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” we are inviting God to work powerfully in our lives, according to His will. This doesn’t mean everything will go smoothly or the way we want. God’s will for us may include illness, struggles, and hardship. But in the midst of all that life brings, we will see the manifestation of God’s power and love.
The apostle Paul gave us a powerful example. He saw and did great things in the name of Jesus. Yet, in his daily life, he lived with “a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me, to keep me from becoming conceited” (2 Corinthians 12:7).
He pleaded with God three times to take it away, but God’s response was: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9a) And Paul’s response?
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
- 2 Corinthians 12:9b
This is the heart we must have when we pray, “Your will be done.” God’s will may not always be what we expect or desire, but He will walk with us, strengthen us, and ultimately welcome us into His glory.
Lord, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done!

Glorify God with your actions!
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
- 1 Corinthians 10:31
We all have plans, dreams, and goals that we want to achieve in life. But our main purpose should be to give glory to God in everything we do. Whoever makes this their goal strives to live in a way that pleases God, turning away from sin and showing love to others. These are the attitudes that glorify God.
Do you want to glorify God at all times? Stay in communication with Him. Talk to Him, read His Word, seek His presence every day, and you will see how you begin to do what pleases Him.
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon
- Isaiah 55:6-7
Cry out to God, seek His nearness, and He will give you strength to do what pleases Him. He wants to help you live each day according to His will, having a generous and merciful heart, a pleasant attitude, and making wise decisions. With God, you will succeed. Draw near to Him every day and glorify Him with your actions.

Do something for your neighbor
Have you ever thought about how much you are doing for those who cannot do anything for themselves? It is very easy to feel indignant and even outraged by the injustices of life. But in reality, this does not change anyone’s situation. We were not called to rebel, but if we seek God first and His righteousness, we can intercede for those who suffer injustice and abandonment in this world.
Do something practical on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves. If it is within your means, look for ways to help ensure justice for the afflicted. Pray, support them, and try to make sure their causes are evaluated with justice and dignity. May the Righteous Judge bless you!
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy.
- Proverbs 31:8-9
These wonderful verses call us to action. In the Bible, we see that we should not remain silent in the face of the injustices around us. We must pray and plead with God to act, but we must also ask Him how He wants us to act so that we can be part of the solution.
Do you think you should write letters to those in power? Do you feel called to take part in peaceful actions for justice? Whatever God shows you to do, take a step forward.
Do something practical for those who cannot defend themselves. If it is within your reach, find ways to help ensure justice for the afflicted. Pray, support them, and help make sure their causes are treated with justice and dignity. May the Righteous Judge bless them!
This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.
- Jeremiah 22:3
