Here you will find verses to help you understand the importance of offerings and short reflections that you can use as a word for the moment of presenting the offerings during worship. Remember today why we bring offerings before the Lord and remind yourself and others to offer with joy.
Proverbs 3:9-10
9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Proverbs 3:9-10
Word for during The Offering: We honor God when we bring before Him the first fruits of our labor and effort. God is the one who supplies everything we need; everything comes from Him, and He deserves the very best that we can offer.
Before offering, we must examine our attitude and motivation. Are we giving God the first fruits, or are we giving Him leftovers? Do we offer it with a heart full of gratitude or a begrudging sense of obligation? More than the value of the gift, God cares about the attitude of the heart with which we bring Him our offerings.
Let us honor God today with our offerings and with hearts full of gratitude and worship for all His goodness.
Psalm 96:7-8
7 Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.
Psalm 96:7-8
Word for the Time of Offering: Through our offerings, we worship and glorify You, Lord. You deserve all our praise and gratitude, We bring you all that we are, every fiber of our being, our words, our songs, our attitudes, and also our offerings.
Our God is the God of glory, the God of power. He does not need anything that we bring, but when we offer, we acknowledge His greatness and our constant dependence on Him. We bring from what He has given us, and we bring it with reverence, remembering His greatness and faithful provision.
Let us offer to God today as an act of worship and praise, and let us do it wholeheartedly.
Deuteronomy 16:17
Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.
Deuteronomy 16:17
Word for the Time of Offering: Have you received blessings from God? How many good things have you received from Him this week? Your health, food, and a roof over your head? If you could remember today all the good things you have received from God, you will see how the gratitude flows from your heart, like a river, making it easier for you to give.
This verse from Deuteronomy says that we should offer according to how much the Lord has blessed us. Whether you feel as though you have received much or little, there is always something you can bring before the Lord. Focus on what you have received from the Lord and bring your offering with a grateful heart.

Luke 21:1-4
As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
Luke 21:1-4
Word for during the Offering: Jesus noticed the poor widow and praised her offering. Why? Because she brought all she had. The others gave out of their surplus; it was not a sacrifice for them because they had much more. However, the widow offered all she had for her sustenance; her sacrifice was enormous and demonstrated great faith.
Sometimes giving is sacrificial, but remember that God looks at your obedient heart. Give what you have as an expression of your love of God, and don't focus on what other people bring or say. Your offering to the Lord is something between you and Him; bring your offering with a heart full of gratitude and faith. God will continue to take care of you.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Word for the Time of Offering: As we give, so we will receive. This principle is echoed in farming. The one who plants only one seed will harvest fewer fruits than the one who plants 100. It's logical! The one who plants more will reap more. This is a principle that is repeated in many aspects of life. For example, the friendliest person has more friends.
The same happens with our offerings and giving. If we give much and share with joy what God has provided us, we will receive blessings in return. This does not mean that we will all be rich, but it does mean that if we give generously and joyfully, we will receive many blessings. God's blessings come in many forms; let us be attentive and sensitive to His moving at all times.
1 Corinthians 16:2
On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
1 Corinthians 16:2
Word for during the Offering: Our offering is not something we give lightly without meditating before God. It is a conscious act of obedience and an act of praise and worship to God. We offer according to what we have received, and we must reflect on the blessings received from God before offering.
Each one should bring their offering to the Sunday gathering in proportion to their prosperity. We give according to what God has provided us, and we do it with gratitude for the blessings we have received from His hand. Let us bring our offerings to the temple and contribute to the growth of God's work.

Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Luke 6:38
Word for the Time of Offering: Here we are urged to give generously knowing that we will also receive something. It is something we experience in all areas of life. If we share with others what we have, they will feel encouraged to share with us too. Not only that: we have the great satisfaction and joy of having helped another person.
God is the best example of a generous giver; we will never be able to give more than He does. From Him, we have received life itself, and He gives us His presence, His care, His protection, and sufficient provision every day. Let us remember the generosity of our heavenly Father and try to imitate Him. Such an attitude will not go without blessing.
1 Chronicles 29:16-18
16 Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. 17 I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. 18 Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you.
1 Chronicles 29:16-18
Word for the Offering Time: This is a prayer of David upon seeing all the offerings that the people had brought for the construction of the temple. David acknowledged that everything they offered had been received first from God. It is God who provides us with everything we have, so it should not be difficult to give Him our offerings. Nevertheless, everything we have belongs to Him.
Once again, we see the importance of giving voluntarily and with joy. God is interested in our attitude when bringing offerings. Let us always seek to give with our hearts turned toward God, toward His greatness, and remembering all the wonderful things He has given us. Let us praise God with our offerings!
2 Corinthians 9:10-11
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

Philippians 4:18-19
Acts 11:27-30
27 During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.) 29 The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea. 30 This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.

Acts 4:32-35
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

Mark 12:13-17
Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar
13 Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to Jesus to catch him in his words. 14 They came to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay the imperial tax[a] to Caesar or not?15 Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”
But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. “Why are you trying to trap me?” he asked. “Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.”16 They brought the coin, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”
And they were amazed at him.
