Anxiety has a way of magnifying minor challenges into seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The weight of worrying about every task at hand and the future uncertainties can quickly become overwhelming. Nevertheless, the Bible presents a unique path to soothe troubled hearts and offer solace to those navigating moments of distress.

1. Entrust Anxiety to Jesus

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

If you are anxious, tell Jesus! Tell God what you are feeling and ask for His help. Give the problem to Jesus.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

2. God Grants Peace

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

When you ask God for help, He gives peace. Just ask!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

3. There is Nothing to Fear

Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4

God gives us the reassurance of salvation, so even death cannot threaten us. God is with us and always helps us. When the psalm speaks of 'rod' and 'staff,' it reminds us of the image of a shepherd, who leads his sheep along the safest path. Make the Lord your shepherd!

4. God Provides Relief for the Soul

When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy.
Psalm 94:19

If you are overwhelmed by anxiety, uncertainty, and fear, seek God's comfort! The Holy Spirit is also called the Comforter, ask for Him to enter your heart, and you will surely filled with comfort.

5. Worrying for What?

25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
Luke 12:25-26

Anxiety is the feeling of suffering in anticipation before a bad thing has even happened! Many bad things only take place in our minds, you imagine them, but they don't happen, and you end up worrying for nothing!

6. In Jesus, We Find Rest

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

You don't need to worry anymore. God is in control of your future. He loves you and will help you. Trust in God and rest in his presence.

7. God Gives Good Things

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Matthew 7:11

Sometimes we feel unsure about what God will give us. We trust that He is sovereign and gives us everything in our lives, but we don't trust that what he gives us will be sufficient. In reality, we are the ones who are in the wrong, and it is us who have warped expectations.

God is the best and will give us what is best.

8. He is Our Helper!

So we say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”

Hebrews 13:6

We can trust that the Lord is our helper and aid in times of distress. When you are worried about what will happen in the future, remember to take refuge in God! The strength of men cannot compare to the power of the Lord.

Be free from anxiety with the help of Jesus!
