Marriage was created by God, it is a sacred institution between a man and a woman and should be treated with respect and reverence.
The secret to a happy marriage is to invite Jesus into the relationship, so that it can be used for God's glory, and can be a blessing to others.

2. Genesis 2:24-25
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

This verse says that the marriage God instituted requires two actions:
First, to leave one's parents physically. When we get married, we form a new family, a new home, and that must be our priority. Of course, we must love and honor our parents until death, but we must understand that as a new family, we will make plans and decisions depending on each other.
Second, to unite as one flesh with our spouse: sexual unity and emotional unity. From the moment we marry, we will enjoy each other sexually and seek to walk together in all areas, such as family finances, serving God, and raising children when they come.
3. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. For God, marriage is of great value, and He commands us to see it this way. Marriage is sacred, and fidelity between husband and wife is non-negotiable: we must be faithful to each other. All types of sexual immorality - adultery, fornication, pornography, any wrongful use of the sexual act to shame or manipulate the other - are unacceptable and will be judged. We should always treat each other with love, purity, and respect.
8. Colossians 3:14-17
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. The word "spouse" means being yoked together, referring to the yoke that keeps oxen together to plow in the same direction. Marriage should be united in every way, and spiritual union is vital. We must be united in Christ, both loving and obeying Jesus to live in harmony and for Christ to be glorified in everything we do.

12. Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

There is no fear in submitting to each other when both are filled with the love of God. We trust that God is guiding the other person within His will and do not fear that they will take advantage of us or harm us intentionally. That is why it is important to marry someone who fears God and is filled with His Holy Spirit. If we know their actions and words are guided by the Lord, we will not fear submitting to each other. The perfect love God gives us casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
13. Ephesians 5:25-30
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body.

Christ's love for the church should be our example. Jesus was willing to go to the cross for each one of us, and He did so out of love. Human beings tend to be selfish, seeking our own good before that of others. But the Christian husband needs to be filled with the love of Christ, always seeking the spiritual well-being of his wife, drawing her closer to God and sanctifying her.

However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Marriage should work together toward common goals, uniting efforts to fulfill the dreams and desires that God places in their hearts. Each should care for the other, helping and supporting them. If one falls, the other lifts them up, bandages the wound, and encourages them to keep going.
15. 1 Corinthians 7:3-5
The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Everything in life works better when we follow advice and instructions, and marriage is no exception. For there to be peace and harmony, the leadership order must be clear. The husband should seek God's direction about what is best for him and his family. He must have a healthy prayer life and study the word. The wife also needs to turn to God for wisdom for herself and her husband and support him in making decisions that please the Father.
16. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

It is said that in union there is strength, and this is even more true in marriage. A united marriage is a great example in a world that applauds individualism. If both serve God, they will have His help in difficult times, receive His wisdom to make the right decisions, and the strength to overcome trials. Not only will they support and encourage one another in times of temptation or difficulty, but they will seek God's direction and persevere until the desired result is achieved.
17. Song of Songs 8:6-7
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

True love is powerful and eternal, a commitment to stand by each other no matter what. The seal on the heart and the mark on the arm do not refer to tattoos that can be erased, but to imprinted marks that last and can never be removed. True love is strong and deep, enduring through all seasons or storms that may come. No illness, scarcity, or disagreement will extinguish it.
